The New, Office in a Living(Room) Landscape, Space!
We have a move into NYC date of June/July.
Because if you have to do one of the most hated of domestic duties – moving – why shouldn’t you do it when NYC is at it’s muggy, smells like urine & sweaty, soupy best?
And by’ ‘you” I’ of course, mean us.
Still, I am extremely excited about it!
So, as you do, we are getting the current space ready for selling. The latest jusshing involved the living room space. The old space was cozy and comfy.
The new space feels more open and sparse. It does however, now include a perfect spot for me to sit and work with everything I need right at my fingertips without looking all business in the middle of the living room.
Really pleased with how it came together and just need a lumbar pillow to put behind my back for total, hours of writing/creating comfort.

The secretary desk to vanity project actually became my office in a living(room) landscape project and honestly? No regrets!
My ever-clever husband replaced the worn top with a new piece of oak and he routed the edges all pretty and added the handle I picked out.
And yes, I had to go and use a non-traditional placement of the new handle…
I am loving my new, Office in a Living(Room) Landscape!
Prepping ~ but not for doomsday….
If i know myself at all and after 51 years I kinda, sorta do — I know I need to have ‘instant’ hand to mouth foods at the ready if there is any hope that I can make this weight loss challenge work at all.
So today has been about doing just that. Prepping, cooking and stocking the fridge so I can make the right choices when faced with hunger pangs.
I made another batch of fruit/nut oatmeal this morning. Six, ummmm, five servings went into mason jars to grab and heat in the mornings. My mister ate one of the servings after it was ready. Who can blame him, it’s darn yummy, filling, sweet & only 5 points……WINNING!
Weather you are dieting or not, give it a go! Here’s my recipe.
Fruit & Nut Oatmeal
1 C Irish Steelcut Oats
1/2 tsp Sea Salt
4 C water
1 overripe Banana smashed up
1 C berries
1/8 C ground flax
1/8 C chopped walnuts
3 Tbl butter
1/8 C Maple Syrup *the real stuff*
3/4 C unsweetened Almond Milk
1/8 tsp Liquid Stevia
1/2 tsp Cinnamon
Bring water & salt to a boil & add oats, stirring.
Bring back to a rolling boil while stirring & then down to a slow simmer for 30 minutes or until the liquid is mostly gone.
Add the rest of the ingredients and stir well.
Six servings
ENJOY!
2013 ~ I’m BACK!
We spent 16 glorious days in Paris and I am completely recharged and
ready to hit 2013 running!
I am taking back my health by joining Weight Watchers Online & doing yoga and walking as much as possible. I want to dance through my MidLife Flourish as much as possible.
I need to get my collective tech shit together, updated and organized so forgive me if my posts start out a little slowly.
So much to do & Spring really is around the corner. I can believe it on a beautifully sunny day such as this!
